They would be funny if they weren’t terrifying. They would be sad if they weren’t monstrous. We would have sympathy for them if they didn’t show, at every turn, that they don’t have a sympathetic bone in their bodies. Today’s topic is the Manosphere, as brought to you by Louis Theroux in his new documentary, Louis Theroux: Inside The Manosphere, showing on Netflix as of March 11, 2026.

In 90 minutes, Theroux takes us inside the playrooms of four men with outsized influence over the lives of boys and young men around the globe. And they are playrooms. These lads have all the toys. From Lamborghinis to mansions to speedboats, to bikini-clad women, to state-of-the-art streaming gear—they have the toys. But wait, did I include women in that list of things? I did.
And there is the snag that Louis Theroux attempts to tease out of the fabric of the Manosphere. These influencers have a very complicated relationship with the opposite sex. They see feminism and female equality as false and reject their diagnoses of misogyny and toxic masculinity. They love women. As much as they love their cars. Surely. Pulling on that one thread, Theroux mugs as the Manosphere’s house of cards caves in on itself. He takes a step back as, one-by-one, these examples of male supremacy crumble with angry, sometimes violent bewilderment.

Born out of the Michael Moore school of shit-stirring documentary filmmaking, Theroux casts a nebbishy straight man’s image. But you can’t watch without marveling at his brass balls as he confronts these buffoons with a self-effacing smile. The influencers featured have dined with Trump, rubbed shoulders with the Tate brothers, and offer investment advice to millions. And Theroux allows them to show their true colors as damaged, joyless, algorithm-driven adolescents with unprocessed mommy trauma.
But hey, they look good in a suit and they can bench press Louis Theroux.

Near the end, edited into a montage, is a clip of one lad shouting in glee, “We kept a woman from becoming President!”
And this is probably true. The Manosphere definitely blocked Kamala Harris from winning. This current administration is their world. We only live in it. How’s that working for you?
I’m going to give this 5 out of 5. Everyone should watch it.
